Solid wood worktops require regular oiling — typically every three to six months — to maintain their moisture resistance and appearance. Use a food-safe worktop oil, applied thinly and buffed in. Small chips in quartz can be repaired using a colour-matched resin filler applied by a specialist stone repair technician. The repair is usually not completely invisible but is significantly less obvious than the chip itself. For structural damage, a section of worktop may need to be replaced — again a job for the original stone fabricator or an experienced specialist.
